GT V. UNC –
So this game is closer than I want to believe even after watching it. TRUTH: the offense was stellar again coach Paul is a master of his playbook and that demands respect. BUT: the defense needs to create more stops in the future. I will say from my perspective another ACC title is in hand if the team doesn’t make mistakes/beat themselves. Second BUT is that the athletes who the team depends on to make plays need to make the easy/open/step-up/cupcake plays This weeks example #5 Hill made a great one handed catch BUT he missed a wide open, basket catch, no one with in 20 yds of him TD pass. These are things that will make it harder to win the conference and win in late bowl games against better opponents.
Oregon V. Arizona –
In true Oregon fashion the game started slow and the took off. LeMichael James is keeping this team in the hunt for early January bowl games but what we all know is that the end of their schedule and how they play it is what’s gonna determine their fate, along with the “all mighty computer”. BUT I want to see them get the ball of the ground in the coming weeks, I want the offense to spread the defense and get after them through the air. This I feel will help lighten the load for Kenyon Barner, Josh Huff and of course LeMichael James. Thus allowing them to be more dynamic and harder to stop in future contests.
Ok State V. TX A&M –
This was a game in true OK State fashion, that is ” Don’t turn that channel”. This proved to be true because at half the Cowboys were down 20-3 with the Weeden/Blackmon combo resulting in One field goal on 5 drives. And the defense had given up 295 yds a rushing TD, a passing TD, and two field goals. But after the half the Cowboys came out and put up three TD is the 3rd quarter and two field goals in the fourth to squeeze by with a one point win. The key of course was the connection between Weeden and Blackmon in the first half they had four completions for 49 yds but in the second the hooked up 7 times for 72 yds and a TD. If you can find out when they are playing because they like giving their fans and onlookers an exciting football game.
